As part of Product Design & Development Team, the Senior Reliability Engineer is to support the Team Lead in DFR (Design For Reliability) by performing the Reliability Engineering (RE) activities for assigned projects (including reliability allocation, prediction, testing, FMECA, FRACAS).

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Identify best possible design of system for concerned mission profile by disclosing reliability critical items or reliability limiting items in the design including critical items analyses (as a result of FMECA) and reports preparation on Reliability Critical Items (identified with a deficiency).
  • Review Root Cause Analysis, Defect Elimination, attend FRB (Failure Review Board) and Reliability Review Board proceedings as design team member for Reliability Engineering.
  • Assist the Team Lead in development of Reliability Program Plan, defining RE objectives and tasks, and deliverables at various phases of the project.
  • Assist the Team Lead in providing technical/ design guidance on RE issues.
  • Monitor and control reliability program tasks (including Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), Reliability modelling, prediction, allocation, qualification testing, acceptance testing, FMECA, FRACAS).
  • Review and analyze gathered reliability data.
  • Perform MTBF calculations to support Quality Assurance and trend Analysis on system failures.

Skills/Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunications or Mechatronics) Engineering.Master's Degree in related engineering fields would be preferred.
  • Adequate experience in Reliability Engineering (05 years' experience is preferable).
  • Experience in engineering design/ development; expertise in latest design software including MATLAB, SolidWorks, AnSys, Altium Designer etc would be preferred.
  • Proficiency in implementing RE Standards (MIL-STD-785B, MIL-STD-756B, MIL-HDBK-338B) and failure databases (NPRD, EPRD, FMD, MIL-HDBK-217FN2, NSWC).
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical distributions (Exponential / Weibull).
  • Competency in applying different Root Cause Analysis tools for Equipment Failure Analysis.
