Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SQA Automation Architect responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of test automation frameworks, tools, and solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in test automation and software development processes. The QA Automation Architect will work closely with Sprint teams to implement a test automation system within our CI/CD pipelines that ensure product quality, reduce manual testing efforts, and improve release cycles.
IDS is at the start of a technology modernization journey. This is the opportunity to have a significant impact on the success of this journey, with a nearly "green fields" approach. You will also drive sufficient investment in test automation of our legacy codebase to enable continued maintenance of this critical product offering.

The successful candidate will be located in the Contour Software office in Lahore or Karachi, working as part of the resource-center team as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Automation Strategy & Framework Development
   Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust automation frameworks using both open-source and commercial tools, such as TestComplete, Cypress, Playwright, and/or AccelQ. Define and implement a test automation strategy that includes tool selection, best practices, and process improvements to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Develop frameworks that scales with our business's growth and adapt to changing requirements, supporting multiple application types, environments, and complex testing scenarios.
2. Technical Leadership & Mentorship
   Provide technical leadership to Sprint teams, promoting best practices in test automation and testing frameworks. Mentor team members on test design, test definitions, and best practices for maintaining a reliable automation suite.
3. Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
   Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide quick and reliable feedback on software quality during the release cycle. Collaborate with Sprint teams to establish a seamless build, test, and release process.
4. Tool Selection and Evaluation
   Research, evaluate, and recommend automation tools that align with project and organizational requirements, with a focus on our existing investments with AccelQ and TestComplete. Stay updated with the latest automation tools and trends to ensure the organization remains competitive and efficient.
5. Test Automation Execution & Maintenance
   Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and suites covering functional, performance, and security testing. Monitor and troubleshoot automated tests, ensuring a stable and reliable automation suite.
6. Documentation and Reporting
   Document the architecture of test automation frameworks, setup instructions, and best practices. Provide regular updates on automation progress, metrics, and coverage to stakeholders. Develop and promote operational dashboards of pipeline execution statuses.
