What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities:

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions including rents, deposits, invoices, and
    expenses.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for property owners andmanagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant ledgers and security deposits.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring financial performance of properties.
  • Process rent collections and follow up on delinquencies.
  • Reconcile bank statements and property trust accounts.
  • Assist with payroll and vendor payments as needed.
  • Support the preparation of tax documents and liaise with external accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Use property management and accounting software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, QuickBooks).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: TBD at offer

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (9 am to 5 pm CST), with flexibility for business updates and discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with property management systems such as Buildium, AppFolio, or Yardi.
● Knowledge of landlord-tenant laws and real estate accounting practices.
● Familiarity with GAAP and trust accounting.

Must Haves:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent
    experience).
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, in property management.
    Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
