Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Booking of hemodialysis patients for both out and inpatient.
  • Review and check physician orders/consent form for Hemodialysis before starting the procedure.
  • Assess patient lab, access site, vital signs, and alarming signs prior to starting dialysis.
  • Monitor and recognize changes in patient condition before and during hemodialysis and provide nursing care to the patient as per standards.
  • Timely comprehensive and complete nursing documentation of patient following nursing process which meets quality nursing standards.
  • Assess patient and family health education needs, plan and intervene accordingly, and evaluate on a timely basis.
  • Assess patient environment for safety, fall prevention, cleanliness, and proper functioning of equipment and report any unexpected events to unit management or designee.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of Hemodialysis and reverse osmosis machines as per requirement of its standard operational process.
  • Ensure assessment and care of vascular access (catheter) with tubing.
Requirements

You should have:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) preferred.
  • At least two years of nursing experience, preferably in Dialysis area.
  • Valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Safe Medication Administration, Aseptic Techniques, I/V Cannulation, ECG Interpretation, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
  • Willingness to work in morning and evening shift duties.
  • Prior experience of working in AKUH will be preferred.
