Role Overview:

We are seeking a Payroll Processing Specialist to handle routine payroll operations for our US-based online tutoring company. This role ensures timely and accurate payment processing for tutors, supports payroll queries, and maintains accurate payroll records.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for online tutors.
  • Ensure payroll data entry, verification, and validation.
  • Manage payroll adjustments, deductions, and corrections.
  • Maintain and update payroll records and documentation.
  • Support payroll inquiries from tutors promptly and professionally.

Data Management:

  • Maintain accuracy of payroll data within payroll processing systems.
  • Generate payroll reports for internal review.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Compliance & Administration:

  • Ensure payroll processing complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of tax-related documentation (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll records.

Technical Tools:

  • Basic payroll processing systems/software, Google Sheets/Excel, Email, Slack.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in payroll processing or administrative support.
  • Basic proficiency in spreadsheet software (Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage routine tasks with a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior payroll experience within online education or remote teams.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Gusto, or similar platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of US payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
