Perform and implement all custom clearance activities such as following up on incoming shipments, document transactions, and day-to-day related activities in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures.

Participate in implementing the anticipated plans and programs as per the set goals to ensure internal work development and productivity increase.

Participate in the development of the Custom Clearance Section's work plan and prepare work schedules to expedite workflow and improve efficiency.

Suggest plans and programs that strive to improve the effectiveness of the Custom Clearance Section.

Follow up with the Operations department and clients for the reception of a complete set of shipping documents for customs clearance purposes, ensuring compliance with Saudi Customs regulations and exemption lists requirements.

Coordinate with the Clearing Agents and prepare supporting documents required for clearance such as B/Gs and shipping guarantees requisitions, ensuring on-time submittal and follow-up for immediate clearance.

Follow up with the Freight Forwarders, couriers, and shipping lines for freight quotations and price lists for inbound and outbound shipments.

Confirm vessels' arrival time to the Operations department for payment purposes and release payment requisitions for CAD shipments to guarantee availability of shipping documents prior to vessel arrival.

Coordinate with the Warehouse to ensure that a copy of shipping documents has been forwarded for proper receiving.

Follow up on shipments and documents with the freight forwarders and shipping lines.

Follow up with the transporter(s) to ensure on-time and complete delivery of cleared shipments.

Keep records of all demurrages, detentions, etc., and follow up with concerned buyers for settlements, implementing preventive actions to avoid customs penalties.

Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.

Prepare periodic reports regarding the Custom Clearance Section's activities and achievements to be submitted to the Support Services Section Head.

Must know how to prepare and confirm all import permits from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and General Safety and Security, plus any and all import custom exemption documents, formats, and formalities.

Ensure that all inbound shipments are cleared within the grace period offered by the sea or air ports to avoid penalty payments.

Verify the delivery of imported products, once cleared, from the sea/air port to designated plants and/or warehouses.

Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Custom Clearance Section Head.
