Relationship Manager, FI is responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with banks, regulators, and public sector entities to drive origination and further growth of cash, trade & treasury business.

Key Result Areas:

  • Act as the key contact point for financial institutions, ensuring effective communication, problem resolution, and business expansion.
  • Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with banks, regulatory bodies, and public sector clients while maximizing opportunities to grow assets & revenue.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within Trade Finance, Treasury, Payments, and other FI-related services.
  • Align FI relationship management strategies with the broader CIBG business strategy.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial institution business models.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and opportunities in FI business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams across product, risk, and operations.
  • Foster strong relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local and international banking regulations.
  • Represent the bank in regulatory discussions, industry forums, and public sector engagements to advocate for business interests.
  • Work closely with risk and credit teams to assess and manage counterparty risks in FI relationships.
  • Ensure proper due diligence and risk assessment for all FI clients and transactions.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to regulatory compliance, credit exposure, and operational vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop and enhance cash management and trade finance solutions tailored for FI clients.
  • Provide strategic input on product innovation to meet evolving FI business to the senior management.
  • Drive adaptation of digital and technology-driven solutions across our business verticals.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in relationship management within financial institutions; trade finance, transaction banking, and corporate banking experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, trade finance, payments, and treasury solutions.
  • Proven track record in managing institutional relationships and driving revenue growth.
