The IT Software Development Manager is responsible for leading the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems and digital platforms to support Health Tech Academy's operational and strategic goals. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and team mentorship to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric technology solutions.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Lead and manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Supervise and mentor a team of developers, including front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Instructional Design, Operations) to align technology solutions with business goals.
• Oversee the development and enhancement of learning management systems (LMS), internal tools, and student-facing applications.
• Ensure the security, performance, and compliance of all platforms, especially in adherence to HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and agile methodologies.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations effectively.
• Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and platforms to drive innovation and improve system efficiency.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and lead incident response for critical outages or bugs.
• Monitor KPIs and generate reports on development progress, system uptime, and user feedback.

Requirements:

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Experience in health tech, edtech, or a similar regulated industry is a strong plus.
• Project Management skills, to work with contractors, vendors and hold them accountable to an ETA

Technical Skills

• Ability to find creative ways to leverage new AI Technologies
• Frontend /Backend expertise and should have worked on mobile apps as well as enterprise software in the past
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., PHP, React)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations (HIPAA, FERPA) and secure development practices.
• Experience with LMS platforms is preferred.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, and database systems.

• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Ability to manage a team locally in PK and should have experience managing / working with teams internationally
• Excellent English Communication skills. Should be able to communicate w/ internal stakeholders as well as customers.
• Cross functional collaboration between internal stakeholders and cross portfolio companies
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Clear and concise communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for innovation in health education and technology.
