
Staff Medical Officer, Radiology Hospital

Providing and managing superior care for patients in the assigned area by making appropriate assessment and diagnosis, providing appropriate management and performing relatively complex procedures as permitted in an ethical manner and in accordance with defined protocols. You will be responsible for:
- Performing ultrasound procedures
- Assisting radiologist in special/interventional procedures
- Participating in the management of patients under supervision of radiologist
- Ensuring that patients are given the quality time during the ultrasound procedures
- Providing education material to staff and students regarding ultrasound procedures and protocols
- Flowing your daily roster and managing the leaves so work may not affect
- Managing medical surgical supplies of ultrasound section
- Ensuring proper functioning of ultrasound equipment
- Participating in audits related to ultrasound section
- Continually working toward enhancing competencies in a clinical setting under supervision of faculty and staff
- Participating in educational activities, such as Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, where applicable
- Keeping aware of infection control practices and following the same in workplace.
You should have/be:
- MBBS
- At least 10+ years post-MBBS experience in a large hospital/busy ultrasound or if ARDMS then 8+ years' experience required or if M.Phil./MS then 5+ years' experience required or if MCPS/DMRD then 4+ years' experience required
- Ability to understand issues from the patient's perspective
- Ability to perform/supervise independently
- Good knowledge of diagnostic radiology equipment
- Knowledge of patient positioning, film processing and general record keeping
- Conflict resolution
- Ability to maintain continuous open and consistent communication with faculty, staff, patients and their families
- Ability to make decisions by weighing several factors and to develop solutions that address the root cause of the problem and prevent recurrence
- Ability to act quickly to address a crisis situation drawing on appropriate resources
- Ability to counsel patients and their families and to adapt content, style, tone and medium of communication to suit the target audience's language, cultural background and level of understanding
- Good written communication skills, especially with regard to patient care documentation.
