Outside Sales Representative Duties and Responsibilities

Outside Sales Representatives are responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing customers. Outside Sales Representatives may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market. Examples of duties and responsibilities include:

What You'll Do:

  1. "Get the sale" using various customer sales methods (door-to-door, cold calling, presentations, etc.)
  2. Forecast sales, develop "out of the box" sales strategies/models, and evaluate their effectiveness.
  3. Evaluate customer skills, needs, and build productive long-lasting relationships.
  4. Meet personal and team sales targets.
  5. Research accounts and generate or follow through on sales leads.
  6. Attend meetings, sales events, and training to keep abreast of the latest developments.
  7. Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data.
  8. Maintain and expand the client database within your assigned territory.

  • Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionally.

  • Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.

What It Takes To Succeed:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Outgoing personality with strong English language communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and learn/use point of sale system.
  • Flexibility, dependability, and integrity.

Employment: Full-Time/Part-Time

Experience: 3-4 years with a preference for at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Salary Range: 40,000 to 100,000 PKR plus commission (salary depending on experience).

Job Specification

Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.

Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.

Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.

Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.

Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.

Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.

Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
