Job Responsibilities
  • Handover and take over shift-related patient information, including patient files, medication charts, investigation reports, and intake/output charts.
  • Provide direct patient care in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner.
  • Ensure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Resolve patient issues using multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
  • Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection control policies, medication procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Assist doctors/consultants during rounds and record instructions.
  • Support doctors with procedures, prepare patients physically and emotionally, and ensure equipment availability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care following SOPs.
  • Follow doctors' orders and address concerns regarding treatments.
  • Manage medical supplies, ensuring they are stocked, stored properly, and available.
  • Check and record blood sugar levels.
  • Perform blood draws and other lab procedures.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, especially for pre- and post-operative patients.
  • Perform IV cannulation following IPPs policies.
  • Report incidents involving patients, staff, or visitors promptly.
  • Supervise Nurse Aids, Student Nurses, and other staff as assigned.
  • Perform delegated tasks related to patients and non-patient duties as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or department heads.
