Job Description:

The Recovery Staff Nurse plays a vital role in the smooth management of recovery patients, ensuring seamless transitions from pre-operative to post-procedure care.

  • Receives patients with completed consent forms, verifying accuracy and authenticity.
  • Ensures timely and proper shifting of patients to pre-operative recovery, attaching necessary monitors and fulfilling pre-operative requirements.
  • Assists in post-procedure recovery, handling specimens and patients received from the OR.
  • Performs cannulation in the recovery room, administering fluids as required.
  • Monitors patient dietary status and NPO times, maintaining accurate records.
  • Shifts patients to the OR, following protocols and ensures proper handover to technicians/senior technicians.
  • Updates patient history and details on the HMIS, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
  • Shifts patients from recovery to wards, following protocols and ensuring seamless handover to ward staff.
  • Executes tasks assigned by supervisors/head of department, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

A BScN with 0-2 years of experience or a Diploma holder with 1-4 years of experience is required for this position.

Key qualifications include a strong understanding of nursing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
