
Business Development Associate

The Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and supporting the sales and marketing teams to achieve company growth objectives. This role involves extensive research, proactive outreach, and the creation of detailed client documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to align business development efforts with DM's objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research:
- Conduct research to identify potential markets, industries, and clients that align with the company's growth goals.
2. Lead Generation:
- Prospect and qualify new leads through outreach efforts.
3. Qualify leads based on criteria set by the sales team, ensuring they are a good fit for the company's services.
4. Consistently following-up on open opportunities to help drive new awards across all DM Clinical Research sites.
5. Provide regular reports on business development activities, including outreach metrics, pipeline growth, new clients identified.
6. Support the management of the sales pipeline by tracking the status of leads, opportunities, and deals in CRM tools.
7. Draft comprehensive, long-form CVs of DM Principle Investigators that will be shared with sponsors and CROs.
8. Support Feasibility
- Works closely with Business Development team and external members to ensure timely delivery of information necessary to win trial opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development.
Credentials:
- Certification in Sales or Business Development (e.g Sandler training, LinkedIN sales Navigator certification). Preferred not required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong time management skills resulting in the completion of all deliverables within required timelines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Document management systems).
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-past and changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams and in close collaboration with others.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision from management.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
