We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Bids & Proposal Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the offer preparation of Hitachi Energy's portfolio for both internal and external customers, in line with sales procedures based on clear inquiries, for both new and service sales. You will ensure timely offers, respond to queries, and guarantee that technical and commercial offers align with customer requests. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall OTD (Order to Delivery) target and prepare related data for reporting to your manager. You will also ensure that the tendering and offering team is always updated on quality procedures.

How you'll make an impact

  1. Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations, considering the best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial factors. Ensure tenders are well documented and detailed, including full and accurate costs.
  2. Ensure all proposals meet customer requirements and adhere to Hitachi Energy's techno-commercial, legal procedures, and guidelines.
  3. Validate terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, pricing) with support from controlling, legal, supply chain management, HSE, operations, sales, and reporting managers.
  4. Collect and collate all necessary information to prepare proposals, including technical and cost elements.
  5. Initiate tender screening and support bid/no-bid analysis in coordination with the sales team, following Hitachi Energy's procedures.
  6. Participate in and support the tender risk review process.
  7. Collaborate with regional, segment, and support teams for timely submission of offers and order handover. Maintain consistent information sharing among team members.
  8. Support the sales team by coordinating with factories, partners, and business groups to meet customer techno-commercial requirements. Leverage market and customer conditions for effective, competitive offers.
  9. Identify potential vendors, evaluate supplier offers, and coordinate with supply chain management for subcontractor requests.
  10. Work as part of a team, assisting in training and developing new engineers.
  11. Apply company policies on health, safety, integrity, quality, and environment in your work area.

Your background

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical power engineering or related field.
  2. Preferably 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Good knowledge of Hitachi Energy products and systems.
  4. General understanding of customer products, applications, and processes.
  5. Support sales teams in providing timely and quality quotations.
  6. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
