The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Bids & Proposal Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing offers for Hitachi Energy's portfolio to both internal and external customers, in line with sales procedures based on clear enquiries for new and service sales. You will ensure timely offerings, respond to queries, and make sure that technical and commercial offers meet customer requests. You will contribute to the overall OTD (Order to Delivery) target, prepare related data, and report to your manager. Additionally, you will ensure the tendering and offering team is updated on quality procedures.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations, considering the best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial factors. Ensure tenders are well documented and include full, accurate costs.
  • Ensure all proposals meet customer requirements and follow Hitachi Energy's techno-commercial, legal procedures, and guidelines.
  • Validate terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, pricing) with support from controlling, legal, SCM, HSE, operations, sales, and reporting managers.
  • Collect and collate all necessary information for proposal preparation, including technical and cost elements.
  • Initiate tender screening and support bid/no-bid analysis in coordination with the sales team, following applicable procedures.
  • Participate in tender risk review processes.
  • Collaborate with regional, segment, and support teams for timely submission and order handover, maintaining consistent information across opportunities.
  • Support sales by coordinating with factories, partners, and other stakeholders to meet technical and commercial requirements, leveraging market and customer conditions.
  • Identify potential vendors, evaluate supplier offers, and coordinate with supply chain management for subcontractor requests.
  • Work as part of a team, assist in training and developing new engineers, and ensure adherence to health, safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably electrical power.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of Hitachi Energy products and systems.
  • Understanding of customer products, applications, and processes.
  • Support sales teams in providing timely and quality quotations.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
