SBS is seeking applicants with high research and teaching potential for the positions of Assistant/Associate Professor in the areas of Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Business Economics and Business Analytics.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Management

Candidates from all areas of Management are encouraged to apply. However, the Management department in SBS is particularly looking for candidates with specialism in Strategy, Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Communications and Human Resource Analytics.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Business Analytics

We are seeking candidates with demonstrated expertise, teaching credentials, or practical experience in Business Analytics. Ideal candidates should be proficient in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, and familiar with programming languages like Python or R for machine learning, as well as SQL for data management. The aim of this role is to drive innovation and relevancy in business-related courses. Faculty members in these specializations are expected to introduce new courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels within the School of Business Studies (SBS). Candidates should have a solid foundation in business studies and the technological skills necessary to effectively impart the desired competencies to students.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Marketing

Candidates from all areas of Marketing are encouraged to apply. However, the Marketing department in SBS is particularly looking for candidates with specialism in Marketing Analytics, Digital Marketing and E-Commerce. In addition, candidates with a specialization in 'Sports Marketing' or a strong understanding of 'Consumer Behavior' are highly encouraged to apply.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Finance

Candidates from all areas of Finance are encouraged to apply. However, the Finance department in SBS is particularly looking for candidates with specialism in Fintech, Financial Regulation, Programming for Finance and Islamic Banking & Finance.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Accounting

Candidates from all areas of accounting are encouraged to apply. However, the Accounting department in SBS is particularly looking for candidates with specialism in IFRS, International Auditing and Assurance Standards, forensic accounting, environmental accounting, and accounting for the public sector. Candidates who have passed a few of the professional accounting body's examinations, besides having a terminal doctorate degree in accounting will be given preference.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Business Economics

Candidates with specialism in Business Economics will develop, prepare, and teach a variety of courses, including Microeconomics, Managerial Economics and International Economics, primarily in relation to external economic factors and their influence on business decisions such as a change in industry regulation or a sudden price shift in raw materials etc.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Healthcare Management

Candidates with PhD in Healthcare Management or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. The school of Business Studies (SBS) aims to start a specialized masters degree in healthcare management (MS is Healthcare Management). Candidates with an undergrad degree in medical and/or experience in the healthcare industry (hospitals, pharma industry and related fields) will be preferred. Ideal candidate would play a pivotal role in the design and launch of the degree program.

In general, candidates applying for all of the above disciplines should hold;

• PhD from a leading and world-renowned institution, preferably from an AACSB accredited institute are encouraged to apply. Candidates with DBA may also be considered for somepositions. We prefer candidates who have earned their doctorate degrees on a full-time residential mode – candidates who have earned their degree in an online format or on a split-PhD model are not encouraged to apply.
• Although research credentials of candidates is a key determinant of success but we judge candidates on the basis of their holistic profile, such as the stature of their degree awarding institutes for their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, besides doctorate – as well as their teaching skills and cultural fit with our institute.
• Candidates for Assistant Professor positions should have demonstrated ability to publish in top-ranked international journals.
• Candidates for the Associate Professor positions should have an established track record of publications in leading journals in their respective disciplines.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching would be required in the form of student evaluations.
• Fluency in English is a requisite for these positions.

Job Description

• Lead the development of courses in their respective disciplines and employ innovative and contemporary teaching methods.
• Undertake nationally and internationally recognized research and publish in high quality, peer-reviewed journals.
• Engage in research-led teaching to keep students and faculty abreast on emerging trends.
• Desire to actively engage in all areas of Faculty life

Salary will be commensurate with the credentials and rank of the candidate and would be in line with the international market rates for such positions.

IBA will provide successful applicants with all the necessary information and support concerning relocation and finding accommodation in Karachi, governmental administrative procedures, visa issuance and any family related issues. We are flexible with respect to the nature of engagement. Essentially, these are permanent full-time positions. However, exceptional candidates, who otherwise cannot commit for long-term engagement, may be considered for short- term/fractional contracts (.5 FTE), such as one semester a year engagement with IBA etc.
