Looking forDatabase Administrator, who has the passion, aspirations and ability to take up backup, recovery, scalability and availability of modern, high-performance databases and data warehouse solutions for big data platforms that includes other components including Hadoop, Kafka etc.This role leverages the full skillset requirements of a DBA from operational support, deep performance tuning, design advisory service for our App/Dev communities and DBA cross-platform training.

Responsibilities:

A Database Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, backup, and security of databases. They ensure that databases run efficiently and are protected from unauthorized access. Key responsibilities include:

  • Database Maintenance: Regularly updating and optimizing databases to ensure high performance.
  • Data Security: Implementing security measures to protect data from threats and breaches.
  • Backup and Recovery: Ensuring regular backups are taken and having recovery mechanisms in place.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with the database.

Focus: DBAs focus on ensuring the database runs smoothly and securely. They handle tasks such as installing database server equipment, upgrading software, determining storage requirements, creating user accounts, managing user permissions, implementing security policies, backing up data, archiving old information, restoring crashed databases, and generating report

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in SQL and various DBMS like Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with other IT specialists

Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience

This is full-time onsite role in Johar Town Lahore.
