Role Description

This role will focus on setting up a comprehensive Operations Risk Management framework. The incumbent will have sound experience within the Operational Risk space to be able to work within the Risk team reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

Desired Qualifications

  • Min 7-8 years of Operations Risk Management experience in Banking industry.
  • Masters degree in a relevant field, such as finance, business, or risk management.
  • Proven experience leading the development and implementation of operational risk management frameworks and policies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment techniques and tools, such as risk mapping and scenario analysis.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of enterprise-wide operational risk strategy and policy and work closely with all businesses and support functions. The primary responsibilities would be to report, assess, measure, monitor, and control and report operational risks for the Bank and evaluate whether the risk management practices are in line with the operational risk strategies and policies.
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework across the bank considering risk gaps and the level of risk involved within the divisions
  • Prepare annual plan for Operational Risk Management RCSA activities and ensure that respective schedules are followed properly
  • Review existing and revised policies & manuals of the business and functions to identify and assess operational risks, map processes and devise or suggest elevation of controls wherever necessary.
  • Prepare and drive Operational Risk Policies including Business Continuity Management.
  • Monitor and report Key Risk Indicators for each function.
  • Analysis and reporting of Operational Loss events.
  • Continuous interactions with central functions and branches to reinforce the objectives of Operational Risk in strengthening of processes.
  • To facilitate the Risk & Control Self Assessments by active participation and verifying the results of such assessments.
  • Develop and implement Ops Risk Strategies to mitigate risks arising out of Operational Risk events in the day to day operations of the Bank.
