Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned courses, developing their own teaching and learning skills, and contributing to the planning of teaching programs.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Meet annual targets assigned by the HOD.
  2. Work to appropriate targets as set by the Dean/Principal of the University to secure a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
  3. Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy.
  4. Continue to develop your own teaching and learning skills and contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
  5. Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during the lessons.
  6. Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
  7. Supervise student projects, field trips, and, where appropriate, placements.
  8. Set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students.
  9. Maintain the record of students' academic performance in the subject for internal evaluation in the Examinations.
  10. Execute mentoring of 15 to 20 students as per the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  11. Update data in VLE and other required software as per requirements.
  12. Link and inculcate Islamic and ethical values in teaching. Participate in activities of departmental and university committees as required.
  13. Ensure that the teaching content and methods of delivery are in accordance with RIU mission, and respond to issues relating to subordinates and student needs.
  14. Supervise/random check of student attendance in classes/labs/practicals.
  15. Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings using other appropriate media.
  16. Seek practical application of research findings.
  17. Carry out independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.
  18. Act as a line manager, supervising the work of others, for example in research teams, and projects, or as PhD supervisor when required.
