Database Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in large-scale heterogeneous database migrations, modernization, and optimization.

">

The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Postgres, Oracle, and AWS Aurora, as well as expertise with AWS Database Migration Services (AWS SCT & AWS DMS) and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Shell Scripting.

">

This role involves working closely with Leads/Architects to develop and execute database migration strategies and solutions, including defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, backup/recovery, HADR based on RTO/RPO.

">

You will also be responsible for automating solutions for repeatable tasks/requirements, identifying potential risks and mitigations, and developing data validation plans and cases to demonstrate database readiness post migration.

In addition, you will work closely with application teams to ensure business functionality and SLAs are met, and collaborate with the customer-facing team to drive discussions regarding trade-offs among multiple options and potential risk mitigations.

This is a strategic role that requires good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of different types of workloads such as OLTP, DWH, and OLAP.

  • Expertise with Postgres, Oracle, and AWS Aurora.">
  • Experience with AWS Database Migration Services (AWS SCT & AWS DMS).">
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Shell Scripting.">
  • Strong understanding of database/data security best practices and solutions to compliance requirements.">
