The role of a Professor / Associate / Assistant Professor in Anesthesia is to provide exceptional leadership and management skills to facilitate the smooth functioning of the department. They will oversee the clinical and academic activities, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lecture and Training: Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical skills training to students according to the curriculum for MBBS/BDS courses.
  • Postgraduate Supervision: Facilitate postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) in clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based teaching, and journal club activities.
  • Research and Development: Coordinate and facilitate faculty members and postgraduate trainees in research and development activities, promoting continuous education and a learning environment.
  • Patient Care: Convey knowledge on basic patient care, including emergency treatment, management of emergencies, and decision-making for appropriate treatment.
  • Examinations and Assessments: Assist in conducting examinations and assessments for MBBS/BDS students, ensuring regular OPD sessions and managing/supervising new patients referred for specialist advice.
  • Clinical Rounds: Conduct regular clinical rounds of the ward to manage/supervise progress and care of indoor patients, providing specialist advice on medical problems.
  • On-Call Commitments: Ensure on-call commitments after regular duty hours to provide cover to critical patients round the clock.
