Gender-Based Violence Specialist Role

This position involves providing direct support to vulnerable women and girls who are survivors of gender-based violence.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Service Delivery:
    • Manage cases according to established guidelines, ensuring a survivor-centered approach.
    • Maintain close communication with team leaders and seek guidance when needed.
    • Provide accurate information on available services, allowing clients to make informed decisions through referral, accompaniment, service coordination, and follow-up.
    • Dispense emergency cash and material assistance based on individual needs assessments.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
    • Collect client feedback and adapt services accordingly.
    • Support post-distribution monitoring activities.
    • Carefully document service provision and maintain detailed case files.
  • Coordination, Advocacy, and Representation:
    • Negotiate and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders and humanitarian partners.
    • Coordinate with other service providers and community focal points to enhance access to services.
    • Promote program goals and uphold GBV standards.
  • Security and Conduct:
    • Ensure adherence to security protocols and policies.
    • Foster a safe working environment for all staff and partners.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant experience supporting women, preferably in social work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to core principles of GBV programming, emphasizing gender equality and survivor-centered support services.
