Job Title: Transcription Specialist

  • Transcribe audio/video files into text format.
  • Maintain the accuracy of source files throughout transcription.
  • Transcribe English audio files into text, understanding various modes of transcription including:

Intelligent Verbatim Transcription

Edited Transcription

Phonetic Transcription

Discourse Analysis

  • Participate in training to stay updated with the latest trends and methods.
  • Follow client guidelines diligently.
  • Adhere to formatting instructions as specified by the company.
  • Conduct quality control for accurate audio transcripts.
  • Complete and submit files within allocated time.
  • Ensure translations preserve original meaning and tone.
  • Proofread translations to eliminate errors.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding translators/vendors when not transcribing.
  • Translate documents between English and Urdu.
  • Perform interpreting tasks as required.
  • Support work on the translation portal and assist the translation coordinator.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Understand transcription fundamentals and various types.
  • Knowledge of different transcription services such as strict verbatim, intelligent verbatim, edited, phonetic, and discourse analysis.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to understand British accents.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Proficient in audio/video transcription software like Otter AI.
  • Able to handle large volumes of work.
  • Typing speed of 80-100 words per minute preferred.
  • Able to transcribe one hour of audio within two to three hours.
  • Experience translating documents between Urdu and English.
  • Dedication, reliability, and confidentiality.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualification Required:

Formal education in English Language or Literature.

Work Mode:

Office-based work.

Shift Time:

10 am to 7 pm.

Location:

DHA Sector F, Rawalpindi.
