About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced insurance professional to manage our overall insurance operations, including acquiring adequate coverage for all assets.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of insurance policies and strategies to mitigate risks and ensure fair claim recovery.
  2. Provide guidance and support to personnel in the insurance section regarding policy renewals and claims handling.
  3. Collaborate with relevant departments to review and refine insurance policies, ensuring coverage adequacy.
  4. Oversee the entire insurance claims process, liaising with surveyors/loss adjusters as needed.
  5. Manage queries related to claims investigations from insurance companies and surveyors.
  6. Review and analyze insurance claims data before processing.
  7. Organize accounting and audits of retirement funds, reviewing related financial statements.
  8. Partner with procurement and Legal Departments on insurance policy reviews and proposals.
  9. Participate in gas purchase negotiations, reviewing related financial aspects.
  10. Review bid bonds, performance bonds, and guarantees, arranging refunds upon satisfactory performance.
  11. Assist user departments with tender processes, ensuring compliance with PPRA rules.
  12. Ensure adherence to withholding tax requirements.
  13. Advise management on RLNG imports, reviewing financial aspects during negotiations.
  14. Review financial aspects during union negotiations.
  15. Handle bank voucher preparations and payments for various expenses.
  16. Coordinate with departments and gas companies regarding gas purchases.
  17. Assess inquiries from insurance and other external parties, ensuring information adequacy.
  18. Coordinate with internal and external parties during catastrophic events.
  19. Identify, assess, and develop response strategies for risks.
  20. Monitor risks and response strategies.
  21. Ensure accurate and timely risk reporting.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree (16 years of education) in Finance, Accounts, or Business Administration from a recognized university with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • OR ACCA with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • OR CA / ACMA with at least 4 years of post-membership experience.
  • Candidates with ACII qualification/certification will be given preference.
