Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the company's insurance needs and developing recommendations for insurance cover.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assessing Insurance Needs: Periodically evaluate the company's exposure to loss from various causes and identify potential risks.
  2. Evaluating Insurance Proposals: Support management in inviting proposals from insurance companies, evaluate the terms of various proposals, and recommend the best options.
  3. Developing Insurance Recommendations: Collaborate with management to develop recommendations for insurance cover and secure approval from relevant authorities.
  4. Custodian Coordination: Coordinate with custodians of assets to obtain up-to-date information about the physical condition of assets and inform the insurance company of any material changes.
  5. Imported Goods Insurance: Obtain information on imported goods, suggest types of insurance cover, and recommend strategies for securing insurance cover.
  6. Tender Evaluation and Award: Review tender evaluation reports, recommend award after ensuring compliance with Public Procurement Rules and Standard Operating Procedures, and supervise the processing of bills against service contracts.
  7. Cash Payments Validation: Oversee cash payments being processed to ensure validation and adherence to guidelines provided in Schedule of Financial Authority.
  8. Vendor Pre-Qualification: Participate in the pre-qualification process of vendors/service providers.
  9. Excise and Shipping Liaison: Liaise with excise and shipping for filing of claims relating to loss on imported consignments.
  10. Vehicle Details: Coordinate with user departments for obtaining details of vehicles owned or leased by the company and inform concerned insurance companies.
  11. Employee Details: Obtain employee details from user departments (Human Resources) and advise changes to insurance companies providing life, health, accident, or other types of cover to employees.
