About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effective handover and takeover of shift unit/ward information related to patients, including introductions, patient files, medication charts, investigation reports, intake and output charts, etc.
  • Providing direct patient care throughout the shift in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner, adhering to therapeutic standards and patient care goals.
  • Ensuring the quality of care by measuring health outcomes against established standards and making necessary adjustments.
  • Resolving patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies and communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Preparing and administering medication as prescribed, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations, and reporting any incidents or untoward occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Facilitating doctors/consultants on their rounds in the unit/ward, recording instructions, and preparing patients physically and emotionally for procedures.
  • Assisting doctors with procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, and adhering to controlled substance regulations.
  • Carrying out doctors' orders as prescribed, questioning any concerns with prescribed treatment, and ensuring effective communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Ensuring the unit/ward medical supply requirements are well stocked, properly stored, and readily available.
  • Checking and recording vital signs, particularly of pre-operative and post-operative patients, and drawing blood and performing other lab procedures as required.
  • Performing IV cannulations of patients, following Clinical IPPs policy manual, and notifying/reporting incidents related to patients, staff, visitors, and any untoward occurrences in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Diploma in General Nursing/BScN with valid PNC.
