Operational Risk Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of risk management framework at technical or operational units including Transmission and Distribution functions in accordance with our policies and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative oversight and programs to the business units with respect to risk management.
- Plan, design, and implement overall operational/engineering risk management process.
- Guide departments in controlling identified risks.
- Assess risk, determine controls, and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Develop risk dashboards using Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead risk identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring activities for high-risk operational/engineering processes.
- Conduct analysis, develop risk methodologies, and drive the implementation of strategies, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and resolve risk issues impacting the business.
- Perform process mapping analysis and process re-engineering.
- Review and update enterprise risk management system through periodic updates of risk registers.
- Guide technical departments to finalize risk-related entries and mitigation actions within risk registers.
- Work closely with technical departments to undertake thorough risk assessments.
- Encourage technical departments to highlight risks without suitable mitigation actions.
- Support departments in classifying identified risk in terms of level of severity and probability of occurrence.
- Prioritize high-risk areas for effective mitigation measures.
- Monitor departments' progress to check if necessary actions have been taken to mitigate risks.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions to create a culture where risks are timely identified and removed.
- Initiate steps to develop e-learning module on risk-related concepts and enterprise risk management program.
- Ensure employees undergo initial course and refresher course every two years.
- Coordinate with training function to include risk management training in new employees' induction program.
- Review monthly reports prior to submission to management, including status of identified risks and corresponding mitigation actions.
- Review annual performance report on SSGCL and departmental risk prior to submission to management and Board Risk Committee.
- Stay abreast with trends and developments in risk management significant to gas transportation and distribution industry.
- Support senior management with any aspect of risk management development and deliver risk management training.
- Apply relevant approach in taking steps in risk reduction, risk acceptance, risk transference, and risk avoidance.
- Write articles to create risk awareness for publication in company magazines.
