Risk Manager Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced professional to facilitate the implementation of risk management frameworks at operational units, including transmission and distribution functions. The role involves providing consultative oversight and programs to business units with respect to risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on overall operational / engineering risk management processes.
  • Assess risk and determine adequacy and cost effectiveness of controls.
  • Develop and implement risk dashboards to monitor key operational risks using Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead risk identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring activities for high-risk operational / engineering processes.
  • Conduct analysis and develop risk methodologies to identify issues resulting from internal and/or external audits.
  • Identify and resolve risk issues impacting the business.
  • Perform process mapping analysis and process re-engineering.
  • Review risk registers and guide technical departments to finalize entries and mitigation actions.
  • Work closely with technical departments to undertake thorough risk assessments and identify threats, vulnerabilities, probabilities of occurrence, and potential impact.
  • Encourage technical departments to highlight risks without mitigation actions.
  • Prioritize high-risk areas for effective mitigation measures.
  • Monitor departments' progress and check necessary actions have been taken to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions to create a culture where risks are timely identified and removed.
  • Initiate e-learning modules to create awareness of risk-related concepts and enterprise risk management program.
  • Ensure employees undergo initial courses of e-learning modules and complete refresher courses once every two years.
  • Coordinate risk management training as part of new employees' induction programs.
  • Review monthly reports prior to submission to management, including status of identified risks and corresponding mitigation actions.
  • Review annual performance reports on SSGCL and departmental risk prior to submission to management and Board Risk Committee.
  • Keep abreast with trends and developments in risk management significant to gas transportation and distribution industry.
  • Support senior management with any aspect of risk management development and deliver risk management training.
  • Apply relevant approaches in taking steps in risk reduction, risk acceptance, risk transference, and risk avoidance.
  • Write articles to create risk awareness for publication in company magazines.
  • Ensure compliance to Enterprise Risk Management Framework enforced in Company while performing job responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance to Business Principles and Ethics Policy / Code of Conduct.
  • Perform any other task assigned by superiors.
