Job Description

As a Quality Control Lead, you will be responsible for developing and directing the implementation of analytical quality systems, processes, and records at the plant. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and works with site management to make these systems consistent, practical, and cost-effective.

This position uses technical expertise, knowledge of the corn wet milling business, and understanding of company goals to work with Operations, Quality Assurance, and customers to assure product quality. You will report to the Plant Quality Assurance Manager and oversee a team of 5.

  • Quality & Data Analysis: Lead the QC team to produce precise, accurate, and timely test and calibration data. Maintain accurate and functional quality records on QC expectations for plant personnel.
  • Innovation and Development: Conduct Out of Specification investigations and maintain records. Drive continuous improvements by applying scientific methodology, root cause analysis tools, and statistical analysis to support recommendations for process improvements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Communications: Work with operations and quality assurance to understand current demands on laboratory services. Direct the operation of the plant QC team to ensure timely and proper release of products based on effective sampling, accurate testing, and relevant business processes.
  • Training & Development: Provide training and technical support to lab employees in the use of applicable analytical equipment and methodologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry or Food Technology
  • 8 years' experience in the Food or Pharma industry with experience in a chemical laboratory
  • Excellent communication skills
