Quality Assurance Specialist:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to lead our quality systems, processes and records in the plant. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, working closely with site management to maintain consistency, practicality and cost-effectiveness.

This position requires technical expertise, knowledge of the corn wet milling business and company goals to work with Operations, Quality Assurance and customers to ensure product quality. The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Plant Quality Assurance Manager and oversees a team of 5.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Quality & Data Analysis – Lead the QA team to produce precise, accurate and timely test and calibration data and act as the technical expert on QC expectations for plant personnel.
  • Innovation and Development - Conduct Out of Specification investigations, maintain records and monitor OOS trends. Drive continuous improvements by applying scientific methodology, root cause analysis and statistical tools.
  • Cross functional Collaboration and Communications – Work with operations and quality assurance to understand current demands on laboratory services. Direct the operation of the plant QA team to ensure the timely and proper release of products based on effective sampling, accurate testing.
  • Training & Development – Provide training and technical support to Sample men, Analysts, Chemist, Sr. Chemist in the use of applicable analytical equipment and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Chemistry, Food Technology
  • 8 years' experience in the Food or Pharma industry with experience within chemical laboratories
  • Exceptional communication skills
