Lead IT Architect

We seek a skilled IT Architect to lead the design and management of complex IT projects. This is a remote job with multiple positions available, requiring a minimum of 8-10 years' experience.

This role involves strategic planning and execution, ensuring seamless integration of clients within a closed network. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Intune, as well as expertise in designing and developing client releases in complex IT landscapes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing a robust infrastructure for Windows 10 Enterprise (LTSB) within a closed network.
  • Migrating approximately 1600 Windows 7 clients to the new infrastructure.
  • Distributing clients across multiple sites through small network bandwidths.
  • Migrating scripts for initial inclusion in the AD domain and configuring Cisco AnyConnect VPN tunnels on Windows 10 LTSB.
  • Migrating from Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory domain to Windows Server 2016 Active Directory domain.
  • Implementing migration steps in cooperation with the support team.
  • Creating a rollout concept for approximately 650 clients with a short changeover period.
  • Defining and maintaining target images for software, system, and solution architectures.
  • Coordinating software, system, and solution design in IT projects, adhering to guidelines and standards.
  • Identifying optimization potentials of IT processes from an architectural point of view.
  • Reviewing and evaluating IT processes for inconsistencies, redundancies, and dependencies.
  • Accelerating standards in IT systems and processes, recognizing automation potentials.
  • Ensuring regular reporting to team leaders on work progress, risks, and issues.
  • Participating in relevant working groups and preparing presentations and decision templates.
  • Transferring knowledge and serving as a contact person for customers, departments, and teams.
  • Advising customers on new products, features, innovations, and implementation/solution options.
  • Designing new Windows client releases for various application areas.
  • Planning, designing, and developing Group-wide client management and software distribution using Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Job Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience delivering applications across on-premises and cloud-native infrastructures.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Intune.
  • Solid knowledge in developing client releases in complex IT landscapes.
  • Relevant experience with Windows 10 in the enterprise environment.
  • Good understanding of operating systems, networks, servers, Internet, and end devices.
  • Ability to model application and system architectures and visualize technical concepts.
  • Presence of ITIL Foundation V3 and Microsoft MCTS certificates desirable.
  • Excellent English skills, spoken and written.
