Job Title: Translator/Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled Language Specialist to join our organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality translation and interpretation services from Arabic to English and vice versa.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Translate documents from/to Arabic to English upon request, including government documents, letters, and reports.
  • Interpret discussions, medical interviews, education sessions, lectures, meetings, and other events as requested and in daily working life to facilitate clear communication between parties.
  • Maintain respect towards patients, collaborators, authorities, and staff participating in discussions.
  • E nsure confidentiality of all translations is maintained as directed by the coordination team.
  • P rovide accurate and unbiased interpretations and translations, asking for clarification or elaboration as needed.
  • A lways declare any potential conflicts of interest when interpreting or translating, which may necessitate using other staff members for translation.

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • A university/higher education degree in translation/linguistics (English language), previous work experience as an interpreter/translator, and fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
  • Skills:
  • Previous experience working with international organizations or NGOs is desirable, as well as good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express) and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Cultural Awareness:
  • This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong language skills, cultural awareness, and attention to detail.
