As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing import management from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare purchase orders according to proforma invoices to ensure smooth transactions occur.

  • Arrange LC/contract openings with multiple banks to facilitate import activities effectively.

  • Monitor and follow up on LC/contract amendments, additions, or deletions to maintain compliance and accuracy.

  • Keep accurate track records of all import consignments in transit to ensure timely arrivals and minimize delays.

  • Inform relevant departments about all booked import consignments to coordinate logistics and optimize resources.

  • Manage LC/contract maturity plans bank-wise to guarantee timely payments for matured documents and maintain a positive cash flow.

  • Coordinate with clearing agents to facilitate seamless import clearance processes and reduce paperwork.

  • Notify warehouses about expected import arrival dates to optimize storage space and minimize waste.

  • Make entries in our software for LC openings, document payments, purchase orders, and import purchases to maintain an updated record and ensure transparency.

  • Record liabilities in software for clearing agents, insurance companies, and indenting commissions to ensure accurate financial reporting and minimize errors.

  • Process payments and cheques, and record payment entries in software for clearing agents, insurance companies, and indenting commissions to maintain transparency and accountability.

  • Prepare party reconciliation statements if required to resolve any discrepancies and ensure accuracy.

  • Receive duty payment details from clearing agents, issue cheques, and record in software to maintain a record of transactions and ensure compliance.

  • Prepare fund statements by date to ensure availability for upcoming import payments and plan accordingly to meet financial obligations.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems is essential to efficiently manage import operations and maximize productivity.

Job Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in handling LC and import shipments is mandatory to ensure success in this role.
