Job Title: Education Specialist - Optometry and Orthoptics

Overview: We are seeking an experienced education specialist to join our team. As an education specialist, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of optometry and orthoptics.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet annual targets assigned by the department head to ensure high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
  • Work with the dean/principal to set and achieve academic goals that promote student success.
  • Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy, using innovative strategies to facilitate experiential learning.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching methods, including critical discourse and rational thinking.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements to ensure a holistic learning experience.
  • Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, providing timely feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance for internal evaluation.
  • Mentor 15-20 students through the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  • Update data in VLE and other required software as needed.
  • Integrate Islamic and ethical values into teaching practices.
  • Participate in departmental and university committees as required.
  • Ensure teaching content and methods align with the institution's mission.
  • Supervise student attendance and respond to issues related to subordinates and student needs.
  • Pursue independent research and act as principal investigator/project leader.
  • Act as a line manager, supervising the work of others, when required.
