Learning and Development Expertise

To foster strategic partnerships with business stakeholders, define capability priorities, and lead the execution of L&D projects across the full end-to-end learning cycle. The goal is to equip employees with specific capabilities that drive competitive advantage.

The role involves leading Pack Lab related day-to-day activities, projects, and other business needs in compliance with regulatory standards underpinned by GSK Values & Expectations.

Scope of the Role

The scope of the role focuses on delivering L&D and pack lab projects that support a specific functional area or site. It covers four key areas of capability development: technical and compliance, leadership, business skills, and packaging compliance as per QMS standards.

Main ResponsibilitiesLearning and Development Manager
  • Develop a function or site L&D strategy in partnership with aligned Business Partners, defining capability priorities aligned to the business agenda.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments with the business to clearly understand and define capability gaps using diagnostic processes like GEMBA, role analysis, focus groups, and interviews.
  • Work with SMEs to agree target populations, craft precise learning objectives, and define evaluation mechanisms and measures of success.
  • Select the most effective learning mix for the agreed target audience, applying the 70/20/10 principles and good instructional design within each learning project.
  • Broker resources and/or capabilities across the GL&D function and business to develop agreed solutions, interfacing with the external supply base where necessary.
  • Ensure learning & development solutions are developed and deployed using global frameworks, standards, systems, and processes.
  • Support the delivery/facilitation of learning & development interventions where required.
  • Ensure the effective delivery & deployment of enterprise/business unit wide solutions and offerings, such as leadership, business skills curricula within area of responsibility.
  • Support the development, deployment, and maintenance of required local capability curricula, including technical and compliance curricula.
  • Support the effective development, deployment, and embedding of required capability models and frameworks within area of responsibility, ensuring alignment with the new GSK Capability Framework.
  • Coach & advise line managers and employees on the GL&D service offerings, capability standards & their effective application.
  • May lead or manage a small number of learning advisers and learning coordinators.
Pack Management Lead
  • Manage Pack laboratory activities and interact with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Lead working with other departments to solve technical and process-related issues.
  • Ensure proper quality control systems and procedures are in place by monitoring and following up on packing components supplied in line with standards.
  • Facilitate timely meetings with suppliers for online complaints and rejections to prevent recurrence in future supplies.
  • Support Procurement, Logistics, and SQ.Ops for Supplier projects, supplier development, and Supplier QIPs.
  • Implement Artwork process in Lab as per standards and regulatory requirements to avoid Regulatory sanctions.
  • Support Site stream packing leads, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support compliance of QMS through level 2 audits.
  • Review L1 Self Inspection process (Schedule, Execution, Reporting, Improvement).
  • Improve Pack Management laboratory KPI.
