We invite applications for the position of Surgical Oncology Fellow in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing sub-specialty care and treatment.

This role involves working closely with consultants and senior fellows to perform initial assessments, document patient information, and follow-up on patients before being seen by the consultant. Additional responsibilities include attending to calls from the ER promptly, performing quick initial assessments, and formulating management plans in consultation with the Senior Fellow and Consultant on call.

The selected individual will also assist or perform under supervision and document operative procedures in the OR, perform procedures independently/under supervision as per competency list, follow-up patients in the recovery room, hand over patients to recovery Room personnel, and perform daily ward rounds with the members of the team.

Other key responsibilities include being available on the premises when on call, attending to all patient-related issues in the ER or ward, handing over and taking over charge from the departing team when there is a change in duties on call, facilitating learning of students, interns, residents, and other healthcare professionals at all levels, and designing clinical research appropriate to the level of training.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Perform initial assessment, document, and follow-up of patients before being seen by the Consultant.

  • Assist/perform under supervision and document operative procedures in the OR.

  • Perform daily ward rounds with the members of the team and communicate findings, assessments, and plans to the Consultant.
