Utilities Project Specialist

The Utilities Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing solar projects from the utility application process through to construction. This key position requires effective management of internal and external relationships to resolve problems and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage intake meetings from land sales to utilities, ensuring seamless project progression.
• Perform thorough due diligence on project documents, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance.
• Initiate the utility application process and track project progress according to established procedures, maintaining transparency throughout.
• Submit project applications to the relevant authorities, adhering to deadlines and regulations.
• Administer and update NES databases for all utility companies and projects, ensuring accurate data management and real-time updates.
• Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders to ensure clear and timely updates on project status, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Serve as a liaison between departments to monitor accountabilities and deliverables, promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Follow up with utility companies as needed, resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
• Maintain awareness of deadlines for utility applications and communicate them accordingly, avoiding delays and misunderstandings.
• Understand project scope and schedule field work for assigned tasks, ensuring efficient resource allocation and optimal results.
• Upload and track utility documents for applications, guaranteeing compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Submit critical project-specific compliance documents to utilities, REC registries, and other administrative bodies, meeting regulatory requirements.
• Provide support to Utility Project Manager, Senior Project Coordinator, and NES teams as required, demonstrating adaptability and team spirit.
• Evaluate project utility costs to assist the finance department with budgeting, ensuring informed financial decisions.
• Revise and improve project process-related documents and training materials, enhancing knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Create and follow up on Purchase Orders for project-specific payments, streamlining financial transactions.
