Project Management Role:

Job Title: Deputy Chief Engineer

 

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this role is responsible for overseeing civil construction activities related to pipeline installation projects in Balochistan regions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and organize civil works using construction management techniques to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality and safety standards.

  2. Schedule construction activities and conduct regular inspections of construction sites to assess project progress and verify compliance with design specifications.

  3. Review project drawings and coordinate with the Planning & Development department for feedback and inputs to ensure alignment with project requirements.

  4. Organize preliminary site surveys for planning, preparation, and deployment of manpower to ensure efficient project execution.

  5. Assess safety risks and implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.

  6. Facilitate Project Engineers and Construction Coordinators in preparing construction plans covering strategy, methodology, and timelines, obtaining approval from the competent authority.

  7. Review and approve civil works and materials as per tender requirement.

  8. Lead activities to ensure compliance with applicable construction and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance.

  9. Mobilize appropriate resources for project execution.

  10. Plan construction of site offices to mobilize manpower and commence project work, optimizing resources for project success.

  11. Regularly review progress reports on development work, proactively identifying and resolving emerging issues to ensure project completion within stipulated timelines.

  12. Review contract terms, supervise the process to obtain necessary permits and licenses, ensuring legal compliance for construction activities.

  13. Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks that may cause delays in the construction project, implementing strategies to minimize project disruptions.

  14. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.

 

For this position, the ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in civil engineering and construction management, with a strong background in project planning, organization, and control. They should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams to achieve project objectives.

 

The selected candidate will be required to undergo a thorough background check and provide satisfactory references before being appointed to the role.
