Pharmacy Coordinator Job Description

The role of a pharmacy coordinator is to oversee the smooth operation of a hospital's pharmacy department. This involves managing daily tasks, supervising staff, and ensuring that patients receive the right medications at the right time.

Main Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Lead a team of pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize resources.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure accurate dispensing, safe handling, and effective storage of medications.
  • Patient Education: Provide education and counseling to patients on medication usage, side effects, and potential interactions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 4-6 years of experience in tertiary care hospital pharmacy, with 2 years at supervisory level.
  • Skillset: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively under pressure.
