Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead the hospital's operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating the strategic plan with hospital operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an operational plan to provide outstanding healthcare services to patients.
  • Ensure the smooth operational working of the hospital and provide necessary guidelines to the team.
  • Prepare proposals with estimates for new projects, construction, renovation, general repair, and maintenance as defined in the five-year plan.
  • Participate in the strategic and operational planning process under the leadership of the CEO.
  • Ensure availability of competent human resources based on workload and healthcare standards within approved budgets.
  • Supervise staff training and development for outstanding performance.
  • Execute CEO initiatives for hospital culture transformation, encouraging positivity, supporting others, sharing knowledge, taking responsibilities, flexibility for change, and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with communities, educational institutes, and NGOs for healthcare awareness campaigns, arranging medical campuses, and attracting patients.
  • Provide leadership support to the Manager Operations for best facility management, ambulance services, transport, hostels, and cafeteria.
  • Ensure execution of preventive maintenance plan for biomedical equipment to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Manage supply chain with proper planning process of medical and non-medical items for smooth functioning of hospital departments.
  • Participate in budget planning process and facilitate CEO for arranging approval of operating budget for financial year.
  • Ensure hospitals' financials are managed within budget guidelines and according to financial policies and compliance to laws.
  • Achieve revenue and profitability targets through best quality healthcare services and closely monitor progress on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Deliver cost-effective healthcare services through design and implementation of process improvement, effective purchasing, and optimal resource utilization within budget parameters.
  • Implement technology integration and hospital operations via HIMS/SAP.
  • Deliver best medical and nursing care to patients and plan rounds of OPD, wards, OT, pharmacy, and lab for consistent monitoring and improving healthcare services.
  • Execute marketing strategies to promote best healthcare services with focus on social media for achieving revenue targets with consistent growth of list of panels and cash patients.
  • Implement ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards and achieve periodic audits with highest scores with no deviations.
  • Develop operational plans for best quality healthcare services and ensure outstanding patient experience in outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Administer quality documentation, manage quality audits, and implement audit points with coordination of Directorate TQM.
  • Execute quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs in line with guidelines of PMDC/CPSP.
  • Implement Continuous Medical Education Programs with mandatory training hours for medical and nursing staff and measure impact on patient care.
  • Implement Riphah Mission and Islamic Ethical Values in true spirit for staff at Teaching Hospitals by developing and monitoring mechanisms.
