Logistics Manager Job Description

The logistics manager oversees the shipping and logistics process, ensuring goods are delivered safely and efficiently.

  • Manage the movement of products, equipment, and materials within and outside the country, adhering to organizational policies and procedures, as well as local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Negotiate with customs clearing agents and freight forwarding companies for seamless transportation and clearance of goods.
  • Analyze costs associated with transportation, services, and inventory, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of import/export legislation and troubleshoot issues that may arise during international freight transportation.
  • Keep accurate records for accounting purposes, verifying invoices and shipping manifests for compliance with tariff and customs regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to establish and maintain effective import/export activities, supporting sales, purchasing, materials management, production, and operating functions.
  • Familiarity with Letter of Credit (LC) and Bank Guarantee (BG) procedures, as well as import/export experience, is essential for handling shipments.
