A senior academic and clinical professional is required to manage and supervise the clinical and educational activities of a department. This individual will be responsible for delivering lectures, seminars, and practical skills training to students, evaluating their progress according to the curriculum.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Academic Leadership: Lead and manage the academic activities of the department, ensuring high-quality education and research outcomes.
  • Clinical Training: Facilitate clinical training for postgraduate trainees, providing them with opportunities to develop their clinical presentation, case-based teaching, and journal club skills.
  • Research and Development: Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate research and development through continuous education and knowledge sharing.
  • Patient Care: Contribute to the development of clinical and practical skills of students by conveying knowledge on common patient care problems, including emergency treatment.
  • Examinations and OPDs: Assist in conducting examinations and manage regular OPD sessions for continuing medical care.
  • Clinical Rounds and Procedures: Conduct regular ward rounds, manage indoor patients, and perform medical procedures under supervision.
  • Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice on medical problems referred from other departments.
  • On-Call Commitments: Ensure on-call cover for critical patients round the clock.
  • Duty Rota and Staff Management: Prepare and monitor duty rota, manage staff placement issues, and maintain liaison with hospital administration.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Adhere to Islamic and medical ethics as per the institution's mission statement.
