Chief Operating Officer Position

This role is responsible for integrating the hospital's strategic plan with operations to ensure seamless and efficient functioning. This includes managing profit and loss, resources, and delivering best-in-class healthcare services to patients while achieving financial sustainability.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead our hospital's operational strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare management and experience in driving business growth through effective leadership and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an operational plan to provide outstanding patient care and increase patient numbers in outpatient and inpatient departments.
  • Establish and implement guidelines for smooth hospital operations and provide necessary support to the hospital team.
  • Develop proposals with estimates for new projects, including construction, renovation, general repair, and maintenance, aligned with the hospital's five-year plan.
  • Participate in strategic and operational planning under the leadership of the CEO of Teaching Hospitals.
  • Supervise staff training and development to ensure competent human resources based on workload and healthcare standards within approved budgets.
  • Lead initiatives for transforming Hospital culture, encouraging positivity, supporting others, sharing knowledge, taking responsibilities, flexibility for change, and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with communities, educational institutes, and NGOs for Healthcare awareness campaigns, arranging Medical campuses, and attracting patients.
  • Provide leadership support to the Manager Operations to ensure optimal facility management, Ambulance Services, Transport, Hostels, and Cafeteria for excellent patient-centered care.
  • Execute preventive maintenance plans for biomedical equipment to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Manage supply chain processes for Medical and Non-Medical items to ensure smooth hospital department operations.
  • Participate in budget planning and facilitate CEO Teaching Hospitals for arranging approval of the operating budget.
  • Manage Hospitals' financials within budget guidelines and comply with financial policies and laws.
  • Achieve Revenue and Profitability targets through quality healthcare services and monitor progress weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Design and implement process improvements, effective purchasing, and optimal resource utilization within budget parameters.
  • Implement technology integration and hospital operations via HIMS/SAP.
  • Delve high-quality medical and nursing care to patients and plan rounds of OPD, Wards, OT, Pharmacy, and Lab for consistent monitoring and improvement.
  • Execute marketing strategies to promote healthcare services with a focus on social media for revenue growth and panel/cash patient acquisition.
  • Implement ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards and achieve successful audits with highest scores.
  • Develop operational plans for best-quality patient care and ensure outstanding patient experience in outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Administer quality documentation, manage quality audits, and implement audit points with coordination of Directorate TQM.
  • Execute quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs in line with PMDC/CPSP guidelines.
  • Implement Continuous Medical Education Programs with mandatory training hours and measure impact on patient care.
  • Implement Riphah Mission and Islamic Ethical Values in true spirit for staff at Teaching Hospitals.
