Cloud Data Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines, architecting cloud-based data solutions, and managing complex data environments using cloud technologies.

About the Job
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using cloud services such as AWS Glue, EMR, and Athena. Leverage AWS Step Functions to automate complex workflows.
  • Data Warehousing: Architect and manage data warehouses using cloud technologies, while integrating with S3, RDS, and DynamoDB for both structured (SQL) and unstructured (NoSQL) data needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Pipeline Development: Utilize cloud services to design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  2. Data Warehousing: Implement and manage data warehouses using cloud technologies, ensuring efficient data integration and querying.
  3. Big Data Processing: Process large datasets using cloud-based big data processing tools, ensuring effective transformation of raw data into actionable insights.
  4. Database Management: Manage SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and querying of data.
  5. Real-Time Data Processing: Implement and maintain real-time streaming data solutions using cloud services, ensuring low-latency data processing and efficient use of resources.
  6. Cloud Monitoring & Automation: Use cloud-based monitoring and automation tools to optimize data pipelines and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
  7. Data Governance & Security: Ensure adherence to best practices for data security, governance, and compliance, including data encryption and access controls.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
  • Proficiency with cloud services, including AWS EMR, Athena, Glue, Step Functions, and ElasticSearch.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and DynamoDB.
  • Hands-on experience in Python for data processing and automation, with knowledge of cloud CLI tools.
  • Strong proficiency with cloud-based big data processing tools, including PySpark and AWS Kinesis.
  • Experience with cloud-based monitoring and automation tools, including AWS CloudWatch.
  • Data warehouse architecture experience, including optimizing query performance in large-scale environments.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have: Familiarity with real-time data streaming solutions such as Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
