The Operating Room is a fast-paced environment where highly skilled professionals work together to provide top-notch care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Job Description

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Operating Room Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Receiving and correctly identifying patients scheduled for surgical procedures;
  2. Verifying patient information and ensuring proper takeover of patients' files;
  3. Completing all pre-operative documentation pertaining to patient's surgery;
  4. Ensuring that all specimens are removed during surgery, correctly labeled and dispatched for necessary investigation as advised by the surgeon;
  5. Assisting in the safe transportation of patients before and after surgery;
  6. Reporting any equipment issues to the maintenance team for rectification;
  7. Coordinating with the scheduling team to ensure smooth running of the OR list.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  1. A matriculation with a pre-medical background and intermediate in any discipline;
  2. A diploma in OT technician from a reputable institution;
  3. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred;
  4. A good understanding of basic anatomy/physiology and OR terminology;
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to handle work pressure;
  6. A willingness to work in shift duties and at different locations.
