Role Overview

As an Area Sales Executive, you will play a critical role in nurturing new customers by engaging with schools to gain insight into their existing textbook list and curriculum. This is a business development opportunity that requires strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities with new clients in conjunction with our Product Specialist and/or Director of Sales. This involves conducting market research, analyzing sales trends, and developing strategies to increase market share.
  2. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business development strategies. This includes working closely with marketing, product, and implementation teams to ensure effective execution.
  3. You will enter leads and client activity into CRM (ODO), collect and record new school/customer information into a master spreadsheet, and provide daily visits and weekly reporting to your Manager.
  4. You will develop and maintain relationships with key clients and partners. Building trust, understanding customer needs, and delivering exceptional service are essential aspects of this role.
  5. You will maintain a client base and corresponding retention volume by analyzing, researching, negotiating, and other activities that increase customer loyalty to our products.
  6. You will identify potential client issues based on client interactions and monitoring key metrics, and provide early identification and mitigation.
  7. You will work collaboratively with internal teams such as Product, Training, and Implementation to resolve issues and act as an advocate for both the client and us to ensure expedient and appropriate resolutions.
Requirements
  1. You should have at least 5 years of experience in business development or working in the education sector. Strong industry knowledge and a deep understanding of the market are essential.
  2. A knowledge of publishing, bookselling, or the school sector is desired but not essential. However, relevant experience in a related field would be beneficial.
  3. You are expected to own a motorbike for daily visits to schools, and we will provide travel allowance. A valid driver's license and good driving skills are necessary.
  4. You should be familiar with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in data analysis, problem-solving, and time management is also required.
