National Sales Director

This is a high-level sales director position that requires a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of success. As a national sales director, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building relationships with clients, and mentoring sales staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Main Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing sales force; measuring, incentivizing, and creating sales programs for all regional managers">
  • Building and developing new sales territories">
  • Acquiring new business leads by analyzing account potential; initiating, developing, and closing sales">
  • Implementing sales strategies and programs by developing field sales action plans">
  • Developing long-term relationships with clients while supervising and mentoring sales staff">
  • Initiating the sales process by building relationships; qualifying potential leads; scheduling appointments">
  • Developing sales by keeping up-to-date with all the latest product, industry trends, and manufacturer announcements">
  • Taking a lead role in product knowledge; arranging product knowledge presentations; explaining product and service enhancements; introducing new products to staff">
  • Maintaining sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and mentoring employees">
  • Maintaining sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results">
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies">
  • Contributing to team effort by assisting the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets">
  • Providing historical records by maintaining records/stats on area and customer sales">
  • Working closely with President to understand sales and company vision and translate that vision into a strategic plan">

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a proven track record of success in senior sales or general management positions. You will also need to have a degree in Business (or related discipline) and experience with account management. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills are essential, as well as knowledge and proficiency with CRM systems; experience using a Cloud ERP preferred.
