Job Description

As a Sports Ambassador, you will lead play-based sessions with children and youth in schools and designated setups. Your role will involve coordinating with school staff and program team to effectively implement project activities.

  • The coach will dedicate their time daily, following school's timings and monthly schedule, to lead play-based sessions with children/youth in schools/designated setups.
  • Coordinate with school staff and program team to effectively implement project activities.
  • Implement Right To Play's modules with children in school/community settings daily (school days) under the guidance and instruction of the Project Coordinator/Supervisor.
  • Support RTP's staff in conducting needs assessments (MEAL and other data collection tools) with children for selecting appropriate games from the modules and with schools to assess the need for sports equipment and upgrades.
  • Support program team in organizing events: meetings, play days, tournaments, sessions, etc.
  • Ensure the involvement of girls/boys (as required) and children with disabilities in the play and sports programs.
  • Support in selection of Junior Leaders (JLs), and involve teachers and JLs in play and sports sessions
  • Regularly complete logbooks and other field documentation including Rubric Card with daily updates and session details.
  • Attend monthly coach meetings held at the school, or any designated location.
  • Meet one-on-one with the Project Coordinator regarding project updates.
  • Be actively available through calls, messages, WhatsApp, or any other agreed-upon mode of communication.
  • Work on off-days or late hours, if and whenever required
  • Attend capacity-building workshops organized by the Project and/or Country Office.
  • Travel to designated venues and events organized by RTP within the city whenever required.
  • Ensure the proper use and accountability of sports materials provided to the school.
  • Daily report to Project Coordinator/Supervisor as required, using agreed-upon modes for opening and closing of the day
Safeguarding and Child Protection

Abide by child safeguarding policy, sign the document 'Standards of Practice'. Ensure all project activities are safe, respectful and protect the rights of all Children.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification required is Intermediate degree.
  • At least 01 year of experience working in school setup/field with children/communities in schools or non-formal education settings.
  • Basic skills of using software like Gmail, WhatsApp, Teams, Microsoft Office, Zoom etc.
  • Must have his/her own internet/smart phone/laptop
  • Must have good level of Urdu and English writing, speaking and reading skills
  • Must be able to travel locally.
  • Hardworking and proactive personality with passion for sports and play
  • Basic writing, planning, communication, interpersonal relations.
  • Eager to learn and grow. This volunteer position involves daily field visits, sometimes including Saturdays.
  • Coach having its own conveyance is a plus point
