As a leader in product development and production operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's product offerings. You will be responsible for driving both the creative development of new food products and the execution of production processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Product Development:
  • Lead the ideation, creation, and testing of innovative food products that align with market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Establish the production facility, incorporating input from cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to understand market trends, consumer preferences, and business goals.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
  • Develop recipes, formulations, and production processes that meet quality standards, cost targets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design processes to test foods for flavor, texture, smell, appearance, and more.
  • Improve the manufacturing process through continuous experimentation and evaluation.
  • Ensure the nutritional value of products meets quality standards.
  • Organize sensory tests to gather feedback on flavor and texture.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations, industry standards, and certification requirements.
  • Evaluate compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing food production, labeling, and distribution.
Requirements

Candidate Requirements

  1. An interest in the chemistry of foods and the science of food preparation is essential.
  2. A scientific or research-minded approach to food discovery and investigation is valuable.
  3. Attention to detail, especially regarding nuances in smell or taste, is crucial.
  4. Persistence in working towards solutions in food science is essential.
  5. Proven experience in food production leadership roles, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
