Technical experts are in high demand to support the design and implementation of large-scale solar energy projects. As a Solar Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of these initiatives.

About the Job

The ideal candidate for this position will have expertise in creating detailed design packages for utility-scale solar PV systems. This includes developing plan and elevation drawings, schematics, and energy model calculations.

The selected individual will be responsible for designing conceptual layouts and electrical diagrams for commercial-scale solar arrays using specialized software such as AutoCAD, Helios 3D, and PVsyst.

Additionally, the engineer will create energy models for commercial and utility-scale solar arrays utilizing PVSYST and Helioscope. They will also develop single- and three-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems using computer-aided design software like AutoCAD.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed design packages for utility-scale solar PV systems.
  • Develop conceptual layouts and electrical diagrams for commercial-scale solar arrays.
  • Design energy models for commercial and utility-scale solar arrays.
  • Develop electrical single- and three-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems.
  • Provide technical support to client development, engineering, procurement, construction, and O&M departments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interact with various engineering disciplines, including civil, geotechnical, structural, and electrical.
  • Support utility interconnection and permitting application processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent certification and experience.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in Solar Design.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
